Sometime in 1970, this grave and headstone appeared on the south side of the path between Haury Hall and Warkentin Court. But no body was ever found, and Herman Bubbert has pulled off dozens of pranks in the years since.

Not just anyone gets an honorary degree
Herman Bubbert was awarded the “Honorary Bachelor of Science” degree from Bethel College in 1994. However, the signers of said parchment were a bit mysterious. For example, Bethel’s president in 1994 was John Zehr, the academic dean was Brian Schrag … and so on.
