“Happy Birthday” car

Tammy Sawatzky’s friends wanted to do something special for her 21st birthday (during the 1996-97 school year). They first tried to put her car on the Krehbiel Auditorium stage so that when the curtain opened for convocation that Monday morning, the birthday greetings would be displayed for all to see, but they couldn’t negotiate the vehicle around one sharp corner.

Instead, they made the car into a piece of art outside the FAC Gallery. Then they had to really work to get Tammy to convo that day, especially when she was worrying about her missing car.

“We wanted to do something special for her birthday,” said one of the pranksters. “We were too cheap to do anything else.”
